About Rivelin Pottery

Beautiful, functional art

Rivelin Pottery, named after a valley in South Yorkshire, was created by Peter Black as a foil for a busy day job. Inevitably, over time, the pottery has become much more than just a hobby and now supples local galleries and markets. Peter was awarded the best emerging artist in the Waikato region of New Zealand after only 3 years of pottery. Inspiration is drawn from Celtic and Norse roots for design and challenging glaze combinations as well as remarkably simple functional designs are the hallmark of his work
